In Chicago, four of my church buddies would convene at my home...and we wouls spend the day ....making kloaches for our church bazaar!
Naturally we had to, taste all day!
Thats called quality control!
They had to be perfect...how else could we tell ? LOL
Here is a wonderful short cut recipe using the bread machine, that the gals in Chicago sent me.
WOW! This takes the work out of kneading the dough!
They are so good!!

Ingredients
-
1-1/4 cwarm water
-
1/2 cbutter
-
1egg
-
1egg yolk
-
1/3 cpowdered milk
-
1/4 cmashed potato flakes...instant
-
1/4 csugar
-
1 tspsalt
-
3-7/8 cbread flour
-
2 tspactive dry yeast
-
·i use fillings from soho like: poppy seeds, apricot, pineapple, cherry..etc.
How to Make POLISH KOLACHES w/BREAD MACHINE
- Flatten balls slightly with the palm of your hand and make a depression in the center of with your thumb.
Making a nice inner ridge.
Fill each with 1 tablespoon of a filling of your choice.
Cover and let rise ......30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 370 F.
Bake in a pre-heated oven 13-15 minutes.
Remove from oven, brush with 1/4 cup of melted butter.
Cool on a wire rack.
Sprinkle with powder sugar when serving.
