Kentucky's Chewy Chocolate Cookies
NOTE: This is a very stiff batter so I added in 3 to 4 tablespoons of milk and they turned out great! Very good, chewy and chocolatey.
1/4 cbutter, softened
2 cgranulated sugar
2 tspvanilla extract
2 call purpose flour, unsifted
3/4 ccocoa powder
1 tspbaking soda
3 Tbspmilk (may take 4)
1 cnuts, finely chopped (optional)
How to Make Kentucky's Chewy Chocolate Cookies
- Cream butter and sugar in large mixer bowl. Add in eggs, milk and vanilla and blend well.
- Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Blend into creamed mixture; add more milk if needed. Stir in nuts.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly sprayed cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for approximately 8-9 minutes. Do not overbake. Cookies will be soft. They will puff during baking and flatten upon cooling.
- Cool on cookie sheet until set, about one minute. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
