Found this recipe in a book (Southern Living Incredible Cookies) on my quest for the PERFECT chocolate chip cookies, they're amazing!!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
How To Make jumbo chocolate chip cookies

Step 1Beat Butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating well. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.

Step 2Combine flour, soda, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.

Step 3Drop dough by scant one-fourth cupfuls onto ungreased baking sheets; flatten each cookie into a 3 1/2 inch circle, making sure flattened cookies are 2 inches apart.

Step 4Bake at 350° for 12 minutes. Cool slightly on baking sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Yield: 2 dozen.
