Found this recipe in a book (Southern Living Incredible Cookies) on my quest for the PERFECT chocolate chip cookies, they're amazing!!

Ingredients For jumbo chocolate chip cookies

1/2 cbutter or margarine, softened

1/2 cshortening
-
1 cbrown sugar, firmly packed

1/2 csugar
-
2 lgeggs
-
2 tspvanilla extract
-
2 1/2 call purpose flour
-
1 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
2 csemi-sweet chocolate chips
-
1 cchopped pecans (optional)
How To Make jumbo chocolate chip cookies

1Beat Butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating well. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well.

2Combine flour, soda, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.

3Drop dough by scant one-fourth cupfuls onto ungreased baking sheets; flatten each cookie into a 3 1/2 inch circle, making sure flattened cookies are 2 inches apart.

4Bake at 350° for 12 minutes. Cool slightly on baking sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Yield: 2 dozen.
