I know alot of people call these no-bake cookies, but my husband and in-laws call them "boiled oatmeal cookies" so I just go with the flow and call them that also. This recipe comes from my mother-in-law, Julia Flanagan.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    baking cocoa
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • ADD THESE WHEN YOU HAVE TAKEN OTHER MIXTURE OFF THE EYE

  • 1/2 c
    peanut butter
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    instant oats

How to Make Julia's Boiled Oatmeal Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. In a saucepan, on medium high heat, add your butter, sugar, cocoa, and milk.
  2. Keep a good stir going on it and as soon as it starts boiling, time it's boiling for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally while boiling.
  3. Take off heat, and add peanut butter, vanilla, and oats, and mix together very well.
  4. Dip out by the spoonful onto a wax paper lined countertop and allow to cool.
