julia's boiled oatmeal cookies

I know alot of people call these no-bake cookies, but my husband and in-laws call them "boiled oatmeal cookies" so I just go with the flow and call them that also. This recipe comes from my mother-in-law, Julia Flanagan.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • ADD THESE WHEN YOU HAVE TAKEN OTHER MIXTURE OFF THE EYE
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups instant oats

How To Make julia's boiled oatmeal cookies

  • Step 1
    In a saucepan, on medium high heat, add your butter, sugar, cocoa, and milk.
  • Step 2
    Keep a good stir going on it and as soon as it starts boiling, time it's boiling for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally while boiling.
  • Step 3
    Take off heat, and add peanut butter, vanilla, and oats, and mix together very well.
  • Step 4
    Dip out by the spoonful onto a wax paper lined countertop and allow to cool.
