jello waffle cookies
I learned to make this in a middle school home-ec class. The teacher called them "Captain Crunch Cookies" because when strawberry Jello is used they taste somewhat similar to Crunch Berries. These cookies taste better if you let them cool completely!

- 3/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 package (3 oz) fruit flavored jello
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
How To Make jello waffle cookies

Step 1Cream together the shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, salt, jello, baking powder and flour. Mix well until a soft dough forms. Roll into balls and place on a hot, greased, waffle iron. Close lid and bake for approximately 2 minutes. Times will vary with waffle makers. These cook faster than normal breakfast waffles.
