italian white cookies
Of all the cookies in the world, these are my all time favorite. To me the anise is the best! I make these for the Christmas season and I give them out as gifts! From my family's own personal recipe!

How To Make italian white cookies
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350* Melt butter & shortening; cool. Beat eggs, stir in sugar, milk, oil & extract. Mix in butter/shortening mixture. Add flour, baking powder & salt, mix well. Dough should be soft but not sticky, add small amounts of flour if needed to reach a soft consistency.
-
Step 2Roll dough into 1" balls and place on lightly greased baking sheet about 1" apart. Bake 12-15 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned, cool on racks.
-
Step 3Icing: Mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract & milk until smooth. I use my food processor to mix the icing, it comes out smooth and silky! Glaze with icing and sprinkle with colored sprinkles or jimmies.
