italian anise cookies

I make these cooikes during the hoildays and I even dip half in melted chocolate, I give to all the kids teachers as gifts...I love these cookies because it makes big batches and are very easy...I recieve request's every year..

Ingredients

  • 5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 cup butter (soften)
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 tablespoon aniset extract
  • GLAZE FOR COOKIES
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water, cold
  • - candy sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make italian anise cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven 450 degrees.Grease cookis sheet lightly..
  • Step 2
    In large bowl stir flour,confection sugar and baking soda together.. Then cut in butter until well blended..Stir in eggs, aniset extract..Mix until it becomes firm..then knead for 5 mins on floured surface..Roll into walnut size balls and place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet..Bake for 8 to 10 mins.. Kool on wire rack placed on parchment paper..

    Drizzle Glaze over cookies and sprinkle...let dry 10 mins and put on cookie plate..
