indian jumanas
I found this cookie recipe in my Betty Crockers Cooky Book. I found the title of the cookie to be interesting and different from other cookies I have made. They are very soft and have a slight nutmeg taste.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 3/4 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- - yellow and green food coloring
- - raisins or nuts
How To Make indian jumanas

Step 1Heat oven to 375F. Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy. stir in sour cream. Blend dry ingredients; stir into butter mixture. Divide dough in 2 portions; color half yellow and half green. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto a greased baking sheet. Press raisin or nut meat into the center of each cooky. Bake 10 min. or until lightly browned.
