Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 - eggs, well beaten
- 1 cup shortening, melted
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons maple extract
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
How To Make ice box cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Grease cookie sheet lightly.

Step 2Beat eggs until light, add shortening. Beat well. Add maple extract, sugars and nuts. Sift flour,salt and soda together. Add to liquid little at a time. when flour is incorporated into the liquid. Roll dough into a log shape. wrap with wax paper, place in refrigerator* until dough is cold then cut into 1/4 inch cookies. Bake for 10 minutes. *My mom would freeze the logs of dough until she was ready to bake them.
