honey oatmeal cookies

This soft and chewy cookie has been a favorite of my children and now my grandchildren. Bake up a batch and try them, you won't be sorry.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup raisins

How To Make honey oatmeal cookies

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 375°.
  • Step 2
    Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and honey.
  • Step 3
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Step 4
    Using a medium size (2 teaspoons) cookie scoop, drop dough about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Step 5
    Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire racks to cool. Store in a tightly covered cookie jar or canister to keep moist.
