i remember my mom would make this mix and put it in jars for christmas gifts it makes the best cookies

8 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3 cups shortening

How To Make holiday cookie mix

Step 1

in a very large bowl, combine flour, sugar, brown sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

Step 2

mix until thoroughly blended. cut in shortening or butter until mixture looks like coarse cornmeal.
Step 3

transfer to zip top bag or bags or a tightly covered container. store in the refrigerator if using butter.
