My Greek cousin gave me this recipe, handed down from her mom. These cookies are easy & delicious. I usually double the recipe because they usually disappear very quickly.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, unsalted
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 1 - egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons cognac
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- - set aside extra sifted confectioner's sugar in a bowl for after baking
How To Make greek cookies

Step 1In mixing bowl cream together butter & 1/2 cup of confectioner's sugar.

Step 2Add egg yolk, cognac & vanilla. Mix well.

Step 3Mix together flour & baking powder, blend into sugar mixture with electric mixer.

Step 4Work dough, using a little extra flour, so the dough will not stick to your fingers. Form dough into small balls & form into an "s" shape.

Step 5Place "s" shaped cookies on to an ungreased cookie sheet, bake at 350 until a light sand color begins to show. Should be 10-12 minutes.

Step 6As you remove cookies from cookie sheet, while still hot roll into extra confectioner's sugar.
