makes 19-20 large cookies


  • 2 c
  • 1 c
    uncooked oats
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt (i omit)
  • 1 c
    softened butter
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
    canned pumpkin
  • 1 c
    semisweet chocolate chips (i have also used white chocolate chips)
  • ·
    icing or peanut butter
  • ·
    candies, raisins or nuts

How to Make Great Pumpkin Cookies, Grandma W


  1. Oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, oats, soda, cinnamon and salt, set aside. Cream butter and sugars, add egg and vanilla. Alternate additions of pumpkin and dry ingredients. Stir in chips. Drop 1/4 c dough on lightly greased cookie sheet, spread into pumpkin shape with spatula and add more dough to make a stem. Bake 20-25 min. Remove to cool. Decorate with icing or peanut butter and candies, raisins or nuts.
