This is my great great grandpas recipe and has been handed down for generations. It will keep for month in an air tight container and the older it gets the better it gets. He use to make it and let it sit for months to get really hard and dip it into his coffee at his nightly treat.
Now this is the trick to this recipe ... WARM the flour ( just till warm to the touch )in the oven in a bowl or a jelly roll pan... meanwhile cream together..
And warm flour to butter mixture and mix well.
Form into 2 balls and roll out each ball into oval shape on a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan using your hand to help shape if needed till about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick
Poke with fork in no specific order on oval shapes to help heat and vent bread. Bake for 45 min.
