Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, light
- 1 - egg
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
How To Make great grandma's peanutbutter cookies

Step 1Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl.

Step 2Cream shorting, sugar, brown sugar and egg. Mix in peanut butter. Add wet ingredients to the sifted flour mixture. Mix until well blended.

Step 3Chill dough for about 30 minutes. Roll into balls about the size of walnuts. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet, flatten with fork dipped in flour in crisscross pattern.

Step 4Bake until set at 375 degrees 10-12 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen
