This is a family favorite! Extremely soft sugar cookie. This recipe has been in our family for many generations!

2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk plus 2 tsp soda in milk
1 cup lard
3 - eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
5 cups approximately 5 cups flour

How To Make great grandma sugar cookies

Step 1

Roll out onto floured surface and use a pretty good sized cookie cutter to cut them out.

Step 2

375 degrees. Greased cookie sheet.
