    cakes of unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 c
  • 3
  • 1 3/4 c
    sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 c
    milk (can also use lactose free)
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts (optional)

How to Make Great-Aunt Annie's Chocolate Cookies


  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees, or 350 for longer bake time.
  2. Melt chocolate and set aside.
  3. Cream sugar and shortening and add chocolate.
  4. Beat each egg into mixture.
  5. Add, alternately, milk and dry ingredients.
  6. add nuts if desired.
  7. On an ungreased cookie sheet, place tablespoon size dollops of the mixture.
  8. Bake at 400 for 6-8 min or 350 for 10.
