Ingredients
- 1 cup butter-flavored crisco
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups unbleached white flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
- 3 cups oats, quick cooking
- 2/3 cup raisins
How To Make granny's oatmeal-raisin cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Combine eggs, crisco, white and brown sugars and vanilla with an electric micer at medium speed until well blended and smooth.

Step 3In a seperate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and spices. Slowly add to creamed mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until mixed. Add oats;stir. Add the raisins and stir again.

Step 4Roll into walnut-sized balls, coat with white sugar and flatten slightly with a fork.

Step 5Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until slightly brown around the edges. Cool on cookie sheet for 1/2 minute. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.

Step 6Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
