grandmaw hulin's peanut butter cookies

I've been making these cookies since I was a little girl. I've taught my daughter to make these cookies when she was a little girl. Now she is teaching her son and daughter to make these same cookies. They stand up to the test of time. They are not to peanut buttery nor are they too sweet but just right!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups flour, plain
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten

How To Make grandmaw hulin's peanut butter cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Combine sugar and butter beating well until light and fluffy; add brown sugar, beat well until light and fluffy; add peanut butter, beat well until light and fluffy. Add egg; beat well until light and fluffy.
  • Step 2
    Gradually add flour mixture to creamed mixture until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Drop mixture, 1 teaspoon at a time approximately 2 inches apart, onto an ungreased baking sheet. Press with tines of fork to make a criss-cross pattern if desired.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 degrees 8-10 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.
