My Grandma used to make these for me when I was little. These were my favorite cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 c
    shortening
  • 1/3 c
    milk
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 tsp
    nutmeg

How to Make Grandma's Sugar Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Beat eggs until light. Add sugar, milk and vanilla.
  2. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
  3. Cut in the shortening. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture.
    Refrigerate overnight.
  4. Drop onto desered size onto pan. Wet the bottom a drinking glass and dip in sugar. Press the cookie dough lightly with the glass.
    Bake 375 for 10 minutes.
