grandmas soft sugar cookies
(1 RATING)
This has been in my family for 5 generations! They never get hard. Light and fluffy, just the right amount of sweetness. Once you try these you will never use any other recipe!I don't! Hint: The dough is just as good as the finished cookie!! I always think of my Grandma when I make these with my little girls, I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

How To Make grandmas soft sugar cookies
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350. In mixing bowl combine shortening, butter, sugar and egg. I use my trusty wooden spoon, using a mixer puts too much air in the batter and ruins the cookies.
-
Step 2Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well. The batter will be soft and creamy.
-
Step 3Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Pat down lightly with you fingers and sprinkle each dough drop with sugar. Bake 8-10 min. Cool completely and store in your favorite cookie jar. Enjoy!Bet you can't eat just one!!!
