grandma hasin's cookies
This is one of those 'handed around' recipes. I make these every Christmas to give as gifts to friends and neighbors. The recipe makes a lot of simply delicious cookies and they freeze well. I usually make several batches starting in November so I have more time during the holidays.

Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup shortening (butter or crisco) not oil
- 2 1/2 cups oats
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup raisins

Step 1Cream Shortening and sugars in large mixing bowl on medium speed until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and mix after each. Add oats and chocolate chips then dry ingregients. Mix just until combined.

Step 2Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
