This is one of those 'handed around' recipes. I make these every Christmas to give as gifts to friends and neighbors. The recipe makes a lot of simply delicious cookies and they freeze well. I usually make several batches starting in November so I have more time during the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup shortening (butter or crisco) not oil
  • 2 1/2 cups oats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup raisins

How To Make grandma hasin's cookies

  • Step 1
    Cream Shortening and sugars in large mixing bowl on medium speed until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and mix after each. Add oats and chocolate chips then dry ingregients. Mix just until combined.
  • Step 2
    Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
