grandma cookies, joann z
Joann strikes again! Rotflmao! Now wondering about options of craisins instead of raisins and other dried fruits since water would rehydrate them. Also, could fill with other fillings for biscotti options...so fig or dates in these maybe? Shit, bakery brain!

How To Make grandma cookies, joann z
-
Step 1Dough: first stir shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla together. Second stir in cream of tartar and baking soda. Cover and chill.
-
Step 2Filling: sugar, flour and water in saucepan. Add raisins and nuts, boil to thicken, then cool.
-
Step 3To make cookies: roll dough. Cut into circles. Place teaspoon of filling onto circle, cover with another circle. I would crimp edges with a fork to seal, Joanne just pushes it down with her fingers...lol. Bake on greased cookie sheet 10 min at 400 degrees.
