The first time i had these I fell in love with them. They are sooo good and soo easy to make, even if i do prefer to make my own cake by scratch. This is my mother's recipe and will satiate the craving of any cookie monster.

Ingredients

1 box duncan hines butter cake mix
1 stick butter (not margarine)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1 - egg

How To Make gooey butter cookies

Step 1

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix until well blended.

Step 2

Chill dough for 2 hours.
Step 3

Preheat oven to 350F.
Step 4

After chilling, roll into 1-inch balls.
Step 5

Roll balls into confectioners' sugar.
Step 6

Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for about 10-12 minutes.
Step 7

Let cool completely, then dust with confectioners' sugar.
