These cookies are so easy to make and everybody loves them. It's fun to experiment with different cake flavors, too. We've made these with coconut cake mix and added coconut flakes as well.

These cookies are easy to prepare and MUCH easier to enjoy. If you love a gooey butter cake with the gooey layer... this is the cookie version of that layer. At first, we thought we underbaked the cookies, but we were wrong - they are perfect. We love the crunchiness on the outside and the gooey inside. Powdered sugar is the perfect topping. Everyone is going to love these!

Ingredients For gooey butter cookies
1 boxDuncan Hines butter recipe cake mix (can substitute yellow or French vanilla)
1/4 tspvanilla extract
1 pkgcream cheese, room temp (8 oz)
powdered sugar (for rolling dough into)
How To Make gooey butter cookies
1Combine all ingredients with electric mixer until well blended. Chill dough for 2 hours.
2Roll into balls (about walnut size). Roll balls in powdered sugar.
3Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 10 - 12 minutes.
4Dust with powdered sugar when completely cooled.
