yield makes 3 - 5 dozen cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup oleo
  • 1 - egg, well beaten
  • 4 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 & 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 & 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make gingersnaps

  • Step 1
    Cream together first four ingrediants.
  • Step 2
    Sift dry ingrediants together, and add to creamed mixture.
  • Step 3
    Chill dough for 2 hours.
  • Step 4
    Form into balls, and roll in sugar (DO NOT press down).
  • Step 5
    Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. They will crack on top.
