Ingredients

1/2 c
margarine
1/2 c
dark brown sugar, packed firmly
1/4 c
dark molasses
2 c
all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp
ginger, ground
1 tsp
cinnamon, ground
1/2 tsp
nutmeg, ground
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt

How to Make Gingerbread Gypsies

Step-by-Step

  • 1In large bowl, beat margarine and sugar until light and creamy. Beat in molasses.; Combine flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt; Beat into creamed mixture until just combined. Form dough into ball. On floured surface, roll dough into 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out shapes.
  • 2Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10 to 13 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom. Cool 1 minute on sheet, remove cookies to wire rack to cool completely. Frost or decorate if desired.
