Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    molasses and syrup to measure 1/2 cup
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    ginger

How to Make Gingerbread Boys

Step-by-Step

  1. Beat shortening,sugar,molasses/syrup and egg. Sift together flour,salt, soda and ginger. Add to above mixture. Mix well. Chill 2 hours.
  2. Roll on floured surface fairly thin. Cut with gingerbread cutter{other designs will work too.
    Bake in a 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Cool and decorate.
