How to Make Ginger Snaps
- Cream sugar and shortening, add the egg and molasses.
- Combine flour, soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Add to wet mixture and mix gently.
- Chill in refrigerator for 1/2 hour. Take batter and roll into 1 inch balls. Dip balls in sugar before baking. I added a little chopped crystalized ginger to the sugar for a little extra ginger flavor.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
