This recipe came from my grand mother Delleplain. Thay are a really good cookie.

shortening
1/2 c
sugar
1
egg
1/2 c
molasses
1/2 c
( hot ) water
2 c
flour
1 tsp
ginger
1/2 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
nutmeg
1/2 tsp
cloves
1/2 tsp
cimmamon

VANILLA BUTTER FROSTING

3 Tbsp
soft butter
1 1/2 c
confectioners sugar
3/4 tsp
vanilla
1 Tbsp
milk

How to Make Ginger Creams Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large bowl mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses,and hot water together .
  • 2Blend in remaining ingredents , and cover the bowl of cookie mix with platic wrap and set in the fridge and chill for one hour.
  • 3Heat oven to 400 degrees, drop cookie dough by teaspoon 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.
  • 4When cookies are cooled frost with vanilla butter frosting.
  • 5Vanilla Butter Frosting : mix the ingredents for the frosting together spread over cooled cookies, set to dry and enjoy.
