This recipe came from my grand mother Delleplain. Thay are a really good cookie.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 c
    molasses
  • 1/2 c
    ( hot ) water
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    ginger
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp
    cloves
  • 1/2 tsp
    cimmamon
  • VANILLA BUTTER FROSTING

  • 3 Tbsp
    soft butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    confectioners sugar
  • 3/4 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk

How to Make Ginger Creams Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses,and hot water together .
  2. Blend in remaining ingredents , and cover the bowl of cookie mix with platic wrap and set in the fridge and chill for one hour.
  3. Heat oven to 400 degrees, drop cookie dough by teaspoon 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.
  4. When cookies are cooled frost with vanilla butter frosting.
  5. Vanilla Butter Frosting : mix the ingredents for the frosting together spread over cooled cookies, set to dry and enjoy.
