ginger cookies--thin and delicate!
This recipe are from my good friend's mother. They are by far my favorite cookie for the holidays. They are additive. I make several batches.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup lard
- 4 tablespoons dark molasses
- 1 - egg
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make ginger cookies--thin and delicate!

Step 1Mix the first 4 ingredients well; add dry ingredients and mix well.

Step 2Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into a ball and flatten on a well-greased cookie sheet with the bottom of a tumbler dipped in sugar. Cookies are VERY thin.

Step 3Bake at 325° F. about 12 minutes. These may be decorated as desired for Christmas cookies. Yields about 5 dozen cookies.
