- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup softened butter - no substitute
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons sugar
How To Make ginger cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350

Step 2Combine dry ingredients

Step 3In large mixing bowl beat butter for 30 sec

Step 4Add 1 cup sugar

Step 5Beat until fluffy

Step 6Add egg and molasses

Step 7Beat well

Step 8Add 1/2 flour mixture

Step 9Beat until combined

Step 10Stir in remaining flour with wooden spoon

Step 11Shape into 1 inch balls

Step 12Roll in sugar

Step 13Put on cookie sheet

Step 14Bake 10 minutes

Step 15Cool on cookie sheet 2 minutes before moving to wire rack
