ginger cookies
I have tried several molassis cookie recipes looking for the right one and had almost given up. Then I visited my Aunt Doris, and she shared her recipe with me! This is lovely cookie!

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup butter flavor shortening
- 1 - egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 cups + 1 tblsp all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground gloves
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make ginger cookies

Step 1Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Cream the shortening and sugar together.

Step 3Add egg and beat until fluffy. Then add the molasses and beat thoroughly.

Step 4Sift (or whisk) the flour, ground cloves, cinnamon, ground ginger, soda and salt, and add to shortening and sugar mixture.

Step 5Roll into 1 inch balls, then roll in sugar.

Step 6Place on cookie sheet and press lightly with a glass dipped in sugar.

Step 7Bake @ 350 degrees for 14-15 minutes. Let cool 2 minutes, then remove from pan to cooling rack.
