Ingredients

  • 3
    eggs
  • 2 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    raisins
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts

How to Make German Spice Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs. Add the brown sugar, cloves, cinnamon and pepper.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the egg mixture. Stir in raisins and walnuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 400*F for 8-10 minutes or till surface cracks. Remove to wire racks to cool.
