German Chocolate Brownies

These saucepan brownies are rich in flavor and broiling the sweet coconut topping makes them gooey and good
Ingredients

1/2 cbutter
-
1 pkg( 4 oz ) german sweet chocolate, broken into squares

1/2 csugar
-
1 tspvanilla extract
-
2eggs beaten
-
1 call-purpose flour
-
1/2 tspbaking powder
-
1/4 tspsalt
-
TOPPING;
-
2 Tbspmelte butter
-
1/2 cpacked brown sugar
-
1 cflaked coconut
-
1/2 cchopped pecans
-
2 Tbspcorn syrup
-
2 Tbspmilk
How to Make German Chocolate Brownies
- In a heavy saucepan melt butter and chocolate; stir until smooth Remove from heat, cool slightly, Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, mix well.
- Combine the flour , baking powder, and salt, add to chocolate mixture. Pour into a greased 9" squar baking pan. bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes or until a tootpick comes out clean.
- For the topping , combine butter and brown sugar in a bowl, add the coconut, pecans, corn syrup, and milk and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto warm brownies, spred evenly. Broil several inches from the heat for 2-4 minutes or until top is browned and bubbly. Cool on a wire rack, cut into bars.
