butter
1 pkg
( 4 oz ) german sweet chocolate, broken into squares
1/2 c
sugar
1 tsp
vanilla extract
2
eggs beaten
1 c
all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/4 tsp
salt

TOPPING;

2 Tbsp
melte butter
1/2 c
packed brown sugar
1 c
flaked coconut
1/2 c
chopped pecans
2 Tbsp
corn syrup
2 Tbsp
milk

How to Make German Chocolate Brownies

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a heavy saucepan melt butter and chocolate; stir until smooth Remove from heat, cool slightly, Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, mix well.
  • 2Combine the flour , baking powder, and salt, add to chocolate mixture. Pour into a greased 9" squar baking pan. bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes or until a tootpick comes out clean.
  • 3For the topping , combine butter and brown sugar in a bowl, add the coconut, pecans, corn syrup, and milk and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto warm brownies, spred evenly. Broil several inches from the heat for 2-4 minutes or until top is browned and bubbly. Cool on a wire rack, cut into bars.
