Ingredients

  • 1-1/8 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    butter or shortening
  • 6 Tbsp
    granulated sugar
  • 6 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla flavoring
  • 1/4 tsp
    water
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 1 pkg
    nestle's semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to Make Garnett Clark's Toll House Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Sift together flour, soda, salt and set aside. Blend 1/2 cup butter or shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flavoring, water. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture, mix well. Stir in package of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  2. Drop by 1/2 teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes 50 cookies.
