These are my daughter Gabi's favorite cookies. They are ones she always wants me to bake to carry to school and church events. Not to mention, at home. I always try to keep some on hand for little treats.

  • 2 2/3 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 c
  • 1
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Gabi's Sugar Cookies


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat baking sheet with
    cooking spray.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside.
  3. On medium speed, beat butter until smooth. Beat in
    sugar until fluffy, about 1 or 2 minutes.
  4. Add egg and vanilla; beat until combined.
  5. Reduce to low speed. Gradually beat in reserved flour mixture until combined.
  6. Bake 7-8 minutes or until lightly
  7. OPTIONAL: May be colored with a couple of drops of food coloring. Also maybe be rolled out or dropped by the tablespoon onto the baking sheet. Add sprinkles, colored sugars, icing or any other decoarations that you like.
