I've been experimenting to make fusion type recipes that combined different cultures. This is a good use for tahini!

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup tahini
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup dried apples, chopped
- 2 tablespoons dried cherries
How To Make fruity fusion cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease two baking sheets or line with parchment.

Step 2Cream shortening, tahini, and sugar. Add egg and vanilla, beat well.

Step 3Stir together flours, baking powder, baking soda and sesame seeds. Gradually add to creamed mixture.

Step 4Fold in the apple and cherries until well blended.

Step 5Drop by spoonfuls on prepared baking sheets. Bake 11 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on sheets, then remove to wire rack and cool completely.
