Great old family recipe. My mother made every fall with home made preserves.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar, light
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup butter, cold
- 2 cups quick, or old fashioned oats (uncooked)
- 1 1/2 cups fruit preserves (strawberry)
- 2 tablespoons butter (additional)
- 1/2 cup chopped, nuts
How To Make fruit streusel bars

Step 1Combine flour, brown sugar, salt. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.Stir in oats & blend thoroughly. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of this mixturefor topping.

Step 2Press remaining mixture evenly over the bottom of a greased 13 X 9 baking pan.

Step 3Spread preserves over crumbs within 1/4" of sides of pan.

Step 4Cut in 2 tablespoons of butter into reserve crumb topping; stir in nuts. Sprinkle over preserves & press down lightly.

Step 5Bake in a 375 degree oven for 25 - 30 mins. or until lightly brown.

Step 6Cool in pan and cut into bars.
