I am probably one of the few people who enjoy fruitcake. This recipe is very similar to that.

Ingredients For fruit drop cookies

1/2 cbutter
-
1 csugar
-
2eggs
-
1/4 csour cream

1 1/4 call-purpose flour

1/2 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspcinnamon

1/4 tspsalt

1/4 tspcloves

1 cquick cooking oats
-
1 cchopped pecans
-
1 cfinely snipped dates*
-
1/2 craisins
-
1/2 cchopped candied cherries*
-
candied cherry halves (optional)
How To Make fruit drop cookies

1Cream butter, sugar and eggs; blend in sour cream.

2Stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and cloves; add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats, nuts, dates, raisins and cherries.

3Drop by teaspoonsful 2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with candied cherry half, if desired.

4Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet and cool on rack. Makes 5 dozen.

5NOTE: When I make these, I reduce the amount of dates to 1/2 cup and candied cherries to 1/4 cup.
