fruit drop cookies

I am probably one of the few people who enjoy fruitcake. This recipe is very similar to that.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup finely snipped dates*
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped candied cherries*
- - candied cherry halves (optional)
How To Make fruit drop cookies

Step 1Cream butter, sugar and eggs; blend in sour cream.

Step 2Stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and cloves; add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats, nuts, dates, raisins and cherries.

Step 3Drop by teaspoonsful 2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with candied cherry half, if desired.

Step 4Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet and cool on rack. Makes 5 dozen.

Step 5NOTE: When I make these, I reduce the amount of dates to 1/2 cup and candied cherries to 1/4 cup.
