these cookies were some of my favorites as child, my granma always made them for christmas or sometimes just because i begged her for them. :)

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    shortning
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    white sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 4 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 c
    fruit cocktail (drained)
  • 1 c
    raisins (optional)
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla

How to Make fruit cocktail cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. cream together white sugars and eggs together, until light
  2. mix dry ingredients together and add to the creamed mixture
  3. add fruit cocktail, raisens, and vanilla
  4. drop by teaspoon full on a greased cookie sheet
  5. bake at 350 until lightly brown, remove and cool
