frosted oatmeal cookies

This recipe is again from my grandmother to my mother to me.This was my mother's recipe as is the photo.

Ingredients

  • COOKIE DOUGH
  • 1 cup butter or margerine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional
  • CINNAMON COFFEE FROSTING
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margerine
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons brewed coffe, cooled
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

How To Make frosted oatmeal cookies

  • Step 1
    Cookie Dough: - Blend the butter and sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla. - Add the rest of the dry ingredients. - Drop by spoonful onto a cookie sheet. I have always found it best if I lined the cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step 2
    Bake for 10-12 minutes @ 350 degrees
  • Step 3
    Frosting: - Blend all ingredients. - Frost cookies after they are cool.
