This recipe is again from my grandmother to my mother to me.This was my mother's recipe as is the photo.

Yields 4 dozen
Ingredients
- COOKIE DOUGH
- 1 cup butter or margerine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups quick oats
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional
- CINNAMON COFFEE FROSTING
- 6 tablespoons butter or margerine
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 tablespoons brewed coffe, cooled
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
How To Make frosted oatmeal cookies

Step 1Cookie Dough: - Blend the butter and sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla. - Add the rest of the dry ingredients. - Drop by spoonful onto a cookie sheet. I have always found it best if I lined the cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2Bake for 10-12 minutes @ 350 degrees

Step 3Frosting: - Blend all ingredients. - Frost cookies after they are cool.
