This recipe is again from my grandmother to my mother to me.This was my mother's recipe as is the photo.

Ingredients

  • COOKIE DOUGH

  • 1 c
    butter or margerine
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3 c
    quick oats
  • 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts, optional
  • CINNAMON COFFEE FROSTING

  • 6 Tbsp
    butter or margerine
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp
    brewed coffe, cooled
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon

How to Make Frosted Oatmeal Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Cookie Dough:
    - Blend the butter and sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla.
    - Add the rest of the dry ingredients.
    - Drop by spoonful onto a cookie sheet.
    I have always found it best if I lined the cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes @ 350 degrees
  3. Frosting:
    - Blend all ingredients.
    - Frost cookies after they are cool.
