Frosted Molasses Bars

1 1/2 csifted flour

1 1/2 tspbaking powder

3/4 tspsalt

1/4 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspcloves

1/2 cshortening

1/2 cmolasses

1/3 cwater
How to Make Frosted Molasses Bars
- Sift flour with baking powder, salt, soda, cinnamon and cloves; set aside.
Beat shortening and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy; beat in egg, 1/2 cup molasses and 1/3 cup water.
At low speed, beat in flour mixture just until combined. Turn into prepared pan. (Lightly greased 9 x 13 pan).
Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
Frost while still warm by mixing 2 Tbls. melted butter, 1 cup sifted powdered sugar, and 1 Tbls. molasses together and spreading over warm molasses bars. (Add a tiny bit of water if necessary)
Cool; cut into 2 inch bars.
(These bake like brownies! EASY AND DELICIOUS!) - BAKE AT 350*.
