I don't remember where I found this recipe, but I happen to love Molasses, and this is fantastic!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/3 cup water
How To Make frosted molasses bars

Step 1Sift flour with baking powder, salt, soda, cinnamon and cloves; set aside. Beat shortening and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy; beat in egg, 1/2 cup molasses and 1/3 cup water. At low speed, beat in flour mixture just until combined. Turn into prepared pan. (Lightly greased 9 x 13 pan). Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Frost while still warm by mixing 2 Tbls. melted butter, 1 cup sifted powdered sugar, and 1 Tbls. molasses together and spreading over warm molasses bars. (Add a tiny bit of water if necessary) Cool; cut into 2 inch bars. (These bake like brownies! EASY AND DELICIOUS!)
