These are one of my favorite cookies , I love marshmallow and chocolate , especially when they are still warm. Kids really enjoy this delicious cookie.

Ingredients

FOR THE BATTER :
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 - egg
1 3/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
30 large marshmallows ; cut in half
- chocolate frosting
FOR THE FROSTING :
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
3 tablespoons soft butter
1/4 cup cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
dash of salt

How To Make frosted chocolate marshmallow cookies

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar , Beat in the egg. Sift dry ingredients ; Add to creamed mixture alternately with the buttermilk ; Stir in vanilla and nuts.

Step 2

Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet ; Bake @ 350° for 8 minutes.
Step 3

Place a marshmallow half ( cut side down ) on top of each cookie and bake for 2-3 minutes longer.
Step 4

Cool cookies on rack and then frost with chocolate frosting.
Step 5

Mix chocolate frosting : Blend powdered sugar , cocoa , soft butter , cream , vanilla and a dash of salt until smooth.
