fresh apple brownies
I got this recipe at a local apple festival a couple of years ago. These cookie bars are not overly sweet and the chunks of apple in them makes them chewy, fresh, and delicious.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup peeled chopped apples
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- - powdered sugar
How To Make fresh apple brownies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Add flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Stir well. Stir in apples and nuts.

Step 2Spread batter into a greased 9 by 13 inch baking pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until brownies test done with a toothpick and slightly browned on top. Cool completely. Dust top of the brownies with powdered sugar and cut into 24 squares.
