I got this recipe off of a Crisco Butter Shortening label years ago. It is a must for our family every year. I always add green food coloring to the frosting.

Ingredients

1/2 cup crisco butter shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1 - egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
FROSTING:
1/2 cup crisco butter shortening
4 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

How To Make family's favorite christmas cookies

Step 1

Heat oven to 375 degrees, grease a baking sheet and set aside.

Step 2

Cream Crisco, sugar, and milk. In a large bowl combine the flour, salt and baking powder. Then add the flour mixture to the Crisco mixture.
Step 3

Drop by teaspoon onto baking sheet and bake 7 minutes.
Step 4

Mix the frosting ingredients till smooth and creamy. Frost cookies when they cool.
