everythings better with bacon cookies

As odd as these sound, they were a huge success.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter; softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 cup real maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup dark molasses
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup real bacon bits
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons real maple syrup
  • 6-7 slices bacon, cooked crisp and broken into pieces
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make everythings better with bacon cookies

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl cream butter and brown sugar. Add the egg, syrup, molasses and vanilla. Mix until well blended.Add the bacon bits. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda. Stir into the wet mixture until well blended. Using cookie dough scoop, drop onto greased pan or paper about 2 inches apart.
  • Step 3
    Bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Cool on wire rack with paper towels underneath.
  • Step 4
    While cookies are baking make frosting.Add heated 2 tbls of syrup to powdered sugar. Will be thick consistency. Spread on warm cookies; staying away from edge as frosting will spread on own. Then I take the cooked, broken bacon and dip in syrup and garnish center of cookie.
