Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 cups flour, scant
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon cherry juice
  • 12 - maraschino cherries
  • 1/2 cup white raisins or currants

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Grease and flour a small tube pan.
  • Step 3
    Cream butter and sugar.
  • Step 4
    Add eggs, beating thoroughly.
  • Step 5
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
  • Step 6
    Gradually add to butter mixture.
  • Step 7
    Add vanilla and cherry juice.
  • Step 8
    Fold in cherries and raisins and bake 1 1/4 hours.
