Sweet, tender little bites lightly spiked with nutmeg. They are so good with a cup of coffee in the afternoon or to have when the kids come home from school. My family doesn't care for eggnog but thinks these are delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2
    egg yolks
  • 1/2 c
    eggnog
  • ·
    colored sugar

How to Make Eggnog Sugar Sparkles

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream sugar and butter together in a large bowl until fluffy. Add egg yolks & eggnog and beat until well mixed.
  2. Add flour, nutmeg and baking powder to the butter mixture and beat until just blended. Cover and chill for 2-3 hours till firm.
  3. Pre-heat oven to 400 F. Roll dough into 3/4" balls then roll in colored sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 8-9 minutes or until the bottoms are very lightly browned. Let cool 1-2 minutes then remove cookies and place on a cooling rack till cooled. Store tightly covered.
