easy chocolate drop cookies
(2 RATINGS)
We went to Kennebunkport,Maine one summer.Right down the street from the Bush estate, was a tag/bake sale going on at the local firehouse.Apparently we just missed Barbara Bush! So this recipe is taken from the cookbook I bought that day.It has a ton of good, old fashioned recipes, from some obviously salty Maine-ites!These cookies are a bit like chocolate kringles,as I call them-but these are just drop n mark with a criss cross(my creation),so easier.Good deep chocolate flavor!

How To Make easy chocolate drop cookies
-
Step 1Oven to about 365.Grease cookie sheets well.
-
Step 2Mix as usual for cookies:cream shortening and sugar.Beat in the egg, vanilla, milk, and salt.Stir and add in remaining dry ingredients.
-
Step 3Drop by teaspooonful onto well greased sheet.I make a criss cross on them with a fork. And dip the criss cross top slightly,in powdered sugar when they are done baking.
-
Step 4Bake between 8 and 12min's,depending on size/generosity of "teaspoonful." Careful not to overbake or these get too hard. Enjoy!!!
